How do I know if I need coaching or therapy?
Our first 20 minute free phone consult will help me to understand your challenges; after which I will make my recommendations.
How long is each session?
The first session is about 1.5 hours. Subsequent sessions are 50-60 minutes.
What is the frequency and regularity of the sessions I will need?
The number of sessions will depend on your challenges, issues and goals. I recommend once a week for the first 4 weeks, then once every fortnight. It really depends on each client and their circumstances. We can discuss this during your first session.
Where do I start in terms of making an appointment?
You are welcome to call or email me with your contact details. I usually have a quick conversation with potential clients before we confirm the appointment.
Can you come to the house or office?
It is not convenient for me to meet you personally as I travel often and live far from you. Can you do online therapy?
Yes, I can do sessions via Skype or Zoom. Online session can be as effective as a face to face personal session. Some of my clients are in different continents and we work out a time that is mutually comfortable.
Do I have to talk about my past or tell you my secret thoughts and feelings?
Depending on the type of session we are doing, you may not have to give me all details. One of the great things about Somatic Experiencing® is we don’t need the details of the ‘story’. In fact, we encourage less talk and more sensing. It is the sensing that helps your nervous system to unblock known or unknown stressors which then brings relief.
Counselling and Coaching involve more talk or discussion, but at the end of the day, you only provide as much information as YOU are comfortable providing.
What about privacy and confidentiality?
